Some pictures of the events of the day (Thursday), after the repression of yesturdays action. The activities of the No-border camp had been declared illegal after scuffles and clashes with the french police in the city centre.

To counter the scare tactics and disinfomation of the local press, activists in the camp have been activly pursueing creative and inclusive actions to engage the citizens of strasburg in the issues around detention and the physical and social impacts of border controls on freedom of movement.

(Pic 1 and 2)
To do this the No-border Zone bus went into the city and parked at the Central train station to hand out information and talk to the local people. However the police reaction to this was very strong, with the mobalisation of a large cotingent of police (several coach loads full) to turn the bus back to the camp - even though to bus had a prior agreement allowing them to remain in that space.

(Pics 3 - 6)
Later in the day a theater group dressed in greek togas performed a border action on one of the public bridges. The togas were used to re-created a slave-trader scenario where economicly valuable slaves and sex slaves were sold to the highest bidder, mirroring capitalist wage labour and economic restrictions on the freedom of movement. Although the presence of any activity was deemed illegal they were hassled but not arrested, after the offical police negotiater was seen monitoring the situation.

Later tonight there should be a party to shake some SIS-busting booty! and discussions on the development of the process for the next few days at the camp.
